On April 18, 2024, OUI Inc. participated in the 128th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society with presentations by CEO Dr. Shimizu, researcher Dr. Rohan, and engineer Mr. Yoshitsugu, as well as engaged in equipment exhibitions.
Dr. Shimizu presented, on stage, about the systematic survey results of the domestic and international use of smartphone attachment slit-lamp microscopes. It highlighted significant improvements in accessibility and efficiency in medical settings, attracting considerable attention. Moreover, Mr. Yoshitsugu discussed the development of AI utilizing machine learning and semantic segmentation combined with handheld slit-lamp microscopes, addressing how AI can enhance the accuracy of ophthalmic diagnoses and outlining future prospects. Dr. Rohan reported on the outcomes of a school screening project in Nepal during a poster session, emphasizing the importance of portable diagnostic equipment in underserved areas.
Lastly, OUI Inc. set up an exhibition booth where we interacted with numerous doctors from both Japan and abroad, receiving a lot of positive feedback from participants about our Smart Eye Camera.
Moving forward, OUI Inc. is committed to continuing our efforts to develop technologies that shape the future of ophthalmic medicine.
