On January 30, 2025, two international interns of OUI Inc. secured the second place at “TIB PITCH GLOBAL,” a global startup competition held at Tokyo Innovation Base. Competing against diverse teams from around the world, OUI Inc. was highly praised by judges for its clear vision, innovative technology, practical applications, and excellent presentation skills.

From January 31 to February 2, 2025, Dr. Shimizu, CEO of OUI Inc., gave two presentations at the 48th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Ophthalmic Surgery in Pacifico Yokohama. In an invited instructional course. He discussed recent efforts by Japanese nonprofit organizations supporting ophthalmic surgeries in developing countries, sharing real-world examples and innovative techniques. In the general session, Dr. Shimizu presented a successful case from a cataract surgery volunteer program in Vietnam, highlighting significant visual improvements for patients following surgery.
