On December 12, 2025, we held a hands-on event featuring Mobile Eye Scan, an outreach eye screening service operated by OUI Inc., for embassy staff and their families at the Embassy of Mozambique in Tokyo.

A total of 15 participants—including the Ambassador, embassy diplomats, and their family members—took part in the event. After undergoing examinations using portable ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including the Smart Eye Camera, operated by examiners dispatched by OUI Inc., participants engaged in online consultations with remote ophthalmology specialists.

Since 2021, OUI Inc. has been collaborating with Lúrio University in Nampula Province, Mozambique, to conduct eye screenings in rural communities using Smart Eye Camera. We believe that outreach eye screening initiatives like this one hold great potential for realizing inclusive eye care in countries with a limited number of ophthalmologists.In 2026 as well, both in Japan and around the world, we will continue working closely with a wide range of partners to advance our mission: to halve global blindness and protect people’s health through their eyes.
