In February 2024, OUI Inc.’s COO, Mr. Nakayama and hardware engineer Mr. Yokoiwa visited the Kingdom of Bhutan. They engaged in discussions with local professionals to deepen their collaboration. They also exchanged opinions on the manufacturing and utilization of our Smart Eye Camera, produced in Bhutan, for local ophthalmic medical care.
During this visit, discussions were held regarding the Bhutanese production of the Smart Eye Camera. 25 sets were delivered to the Bhutan Ministry of Education with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Additionally, a lecture and a workshop on how to use our device were conducted for the 25 selected professionals from all over Bhutan. Through this workshop, participants were able to learn the protocols for Hirschberg tests and slit lamp photography using the local Bhutan-produced Smart Eye Camera.
The workshop was prominently featured in the Bhutanese morning newspaper the following day. We visited the Central Hospital to report our activities to the local ophthalmologists, and had a very good discussion regarding future collaboration. Plans are underway to continue the development and spread awareness of our device.
Through this visit, many people in Bhutan were able to directly experience the potential of our Smart Eye Camera. OUI Inc. will continue to deepen collaboration with medical professionals in Bhutan and work towards improving the quality of ophthalmic medical care worldwide through our Smart Eye Camera.
